MONDAY, AUGUST 14, 2006 The
100th year of the of celebration opened with greeting from the three hosting
organizations in Philedelphia, lots of celebrations, and recognition of the
many brothers and sisters who formed the history of the union as it is
today.

Opening the program Sister Nilda Chock from Hawaii, introduced the
dynamic Congressman from her state who challenged us all to make a change in
this years election

After introduction by President Burrus, the Governor of Pennsylvania,
Edward G Rendell addressed the convention and spoke about the strides he has
attained in the State government that have directly benefited the working
class people in his state including the raising of the state minimum wage.

Two generations of Representatives to the U.S. Congress, father and son
spoke to the convention. Current Congressman William Clay, Jr.
addressed the convention, followed by his father, a retired Congressman,
William Clay, Sr. The senior Clay was responsible for many legislative
issues being passed into law, including the FMLA Law and one that allowed
vesting of pensions.
